What is Restylane® and how does it work to rejuvenate the face?

Restylane® works immediately by adding volume to smooth away wrinkles. A clear gel formulation of hyaluronic acid, Restylane® is specifically formulated to act like your body’s own hyaluronic acid, and eventually breaks down naturally. The Restylane® family of products may be used in various parts of the face, including the forehead, around the eyes, cheeks, jawline, chin and lips.

What is the difference between Restylane® and Restylane-L®?

Restylane-L® is also be used add volume and fullness to the skin to correct moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as the lines from your nose to the corners of your mouth (nasolabial folds). But, by combining lidocaine with Restylane®, Restylane-L® can help reduce discomfort during and after treatment.
In clinical studies evaluating the Restylane® family of products in laugh lines (nasolabial folds):

  • 72% of patients reported significantly less pain during treatment with Restylane-L® vs. Restylane®
  • Patients continued to experience less discomfort for up to one hour after treatment

What side effects can you expect from Restylane® or Restylane-L®?

Restylane® is skillfully injected by our certified injectors through a small, micro-needle and placed under the skin in the areas of the face that have been identified for rejuvenation. With Restylane® injections there is no downtime. Restylane® products add volume, and over time they continue to stimulate your skin’s natural production of hyaluronic acid.

After treatment, you might have some swelling, redness, pain, bruising, or tenderness. These are typically mild in severity and normally last less than 7 days in nasolabial folds and less than 14-18 days in lips.

Why Restylane® Lyft?

Restylane® Lyft, formerly known as Perlane-L®, is FDA approved for deep creases and folds in the cheeks and correction of age-related midface contour deficiencies in patients over the age of 21. Restylane® Lyft is precisely injected into the skin with an ultrafine needle. It is a safe and effective dermal filler often used for:

  • The nasolabial folds, sometimes referred to as the parentheses that range from your nose to the corners your mouth
  • Cheek augmentation

Patients can expect to see an immediate improvement in the facial areas treated with Restylane® Lyft. Minimal bruising may occur and you should be able to return to work and resume normal daily activities directly after your procedure.
