Radiesse® Before and After, St. George, UT

What is Radiesse®?

Approved by the FDA, this filler is a subdermal injection that corrects moderate to severe facial folds and wrinkles, especially nasolabial folds, or the lines in between the nose and the corners of the mouth. It is also indicated for the restoration of facial fat loss that may be found in patients with HIV. The filler is composed of synthetic microspheres of calcium hydroxylapatite that are suspended in a gel-carrier and is injected subdermally by a professional.

What can I expect from a Radiesse® treatment?

The purpose of the injectable filler is to restore lost facial volume and smooth out visible signs of aging. When injected, the solution stimulates collagen production in the body, with results that last a year or more. Immediate results can be seen right after the injections have been administered. The filler can be mixed with 2% lidocaine to promote comfort during injections for nasolabial folds.

Who are not good candidates for Radiesse® injections?

Not everyone is fit to undergo a Radiesse® treatment. Individuals who have a history of anaphylaxis or have multiple or severe allergies may not be good candidates. Patients with bleeding disorders as well as those who are hypersensitive to any of the ingredients of Radiesse® may also not be eligible for the treatment. We have met standards of quality care and patient safety.

What side effects can I expect from a Radiesse® treatment?

After your treatment, you can expect common side effects which may include pain, itching, redness, swelling, and bruising in the treatment sites. A patient may also experience some rare side effects, such as prolonged swelling, infection, and firmness in the injection sites. However, such side effects are expected to resolve within one to two weeks.
